Frequently asked questions

Shipping and delivery

We deliver Australia-wide. All of our products are dispatched from our premises in Adelaide, South Australia and are delivered by either Sendle or Australia Post.

Unfortunately, we do not ship internationally at this stage due to cost and substantial delays in shipping.

Once your order has been placed, a confirmation e-mail is sent to your e-mail address. Please keep this e-mail as proof of your purchase. A tracking number will be sent to you as soon as your order is dispatched.

Delivery is between Monday and Friday. Our orders are usually dispatched within 1-4 business days. Once we send out your order, the delivery time will be subject to the delivery service which is generally between 2-9 business days (can occasionally be longer if postal services are experiencing delays due to COVID-19 or if you live in a remote area).

Finally, please check that all items received are what you have ordered. If the order is incorrect, please contact us immediately so we can help.

What if my order is faulty or arrives damaged?

Please refer to our Refunds and Returns Policy page in our footer menu for more details about this.

In the extremely rare event that your package arrives damaged, please contact us immediately with photos, delivery and order details and we’ll do whatever we can to assist. DO NOT USE the damaged item as we will not accept any returns or provide refunds if the item has been used or tampered with.

WHAT size candles do you offer?

At the moment we only make one candle size (the 180g jar) because our workspace and storage is very limited, but we are hoping to be able to offer a larger 300g size jar in the future as well so watch this space.

The size of candle we currently offer is best enjoyed in a small, contained room such as a bedroom, bathroom or office. A candle with a small surface area can only do so much in a large open space! The scent will often take an hour or so to fully develop as it reaches full melt pool, so patience is a virtue too.

why wooden wicks?

We use wooden wicks for all our candles mostly because we love their crackle that reminds us of a warm, cosy fireplace (one of our favourite things!), but also because:

  • Wooden wicks release fragrance better and faster than cotton wicks.

  • Wooden wicks burn more evenly: as they are wide based wicks, they are able to create large, even melt pools with a single wick and are less likely to tunnel when burned properly.

  • Our wooden wicks are eco-friendly and sustainable: they are made of 100% FSC-certified wood.

Lighting a wood wick takes a bit longer than cotton, so a long match or lighter is useful. They can be a bit more finicky when it comes to trimming and staying lit, but we think all the upsides are worth it! We also import our premium wooden wicks from the US as we’ve found they are the most reliable and feature the most audible crackle.

As they are a natural product, you may occasionally come across a wooden wick that refuses to behave – if this happens, please feel free to contact us and we will do everything we can to help.

is the wax natural and vegan friendly?

We choose to use a soy and coconut wax that is sustainable and renewable, and is a 100% plant-based natural wax. It does not contain herbicides, pesticides, petroleum, animal or insect products.

Because our wax doesn’t contain any artificial additives, it can often set with bumps or imperfections on the surface. Natural soy candles may also sweat, melt, discolour or fade when they are exposed to intense light, heat or humidity for extended periods of time. These are just features of natural soy wax and are considered perfectly normal so don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with your candle!

do you use essential oils?

As essential oils aren’t specifically created to be used in candles, the fragrance throw is often not very strong and can sometimes trigger allergies in sensitive people. Our fragrances are a blend of synthetic and essential oils specifically formulated for safe use in candles and are of the highest quality we can source.

Can I reuse or recycle the packaging?

Absolutely. Our packaging is recyclable wherever possible, and the clear packing tape we use on the outer cartons is 100% landfill biodegradable.

Once you’ve finished your candle, you can easily clean and re-use the jar. We recommend waiting for the remaining wax to cool (never pour hot wax down the sink), then use a small spoon to gently scrape it out and finally wash and allow to dry. The jar can then be used as a small storage container or plant pot, or can be placed in your recycling bin if no longer needed. Additionally, you can keep the leftover wax and put it in a wax burner to continue enjoying the scent until it’s all used up!

HOW DO I USE A WAX MELT?

Place 1–2 of our rune melts into your electric or tealight wax burner, and enjoy the fragrance without the flame. If using a shot pot melt, use a butter knife to gently ease it out of the container or leave it in the fridge for an hour or so until the wax contracts.

Each melt will provide several hours of fragrance. We recommend using 0.5–1 shot pot melt or 2 rune melts at once (unless you have a very small room or prefer a subtle scent). When the scent starts to fade, wait for the melted wax to cool then pop it out of your burner and replace with some fresh melts.
